Footpegs, and other bits

Ahead of my bike arriving, one thing that looked a bit poor on the bike Insaw in the showroom was the footpegs. I do like a bit bigger and “adventurer” pegs; is there an accepted / consensus set as a replacement?

Other than that, are there and aftermarket bits that make life a bit easier or more pleasant with the bike? I’ve tended to fit a mudguard extender and rear hugger / shock protector in the past to keep some of the dirt off the engine, is this still worthwhile on the new bike, and is there anything else to consider?

I’ve not generally bothered with crash bungs, headlight guards, bash plates etc, I’m more after any hits and pieces that will benefit more with road riding in all seasons.

Probably not many votes for these, as they are a bit pricey, but I have just fitted a pair of Lone Rider MotoPegs. Look very well made, and I found them very comfortable when I went out for a 5 hour run.

They look just the thing, thanks.

And yes, that’s quite a lot for a set of pegs, but if they are good I think it’ll be worth it.

Sorry not a very good picture but these are what came with the enduro pack. I like them.20231217_160017.jpg

Not sure if they fit the 1300 models but my GSA came with some Option719 stuff fitted, including adjustable footpegs made by Gilles. They are pretty good but I doubt they are cheap.

Pull them out and that's what you have. I prefer grippier.

I got my full spec 1300 with Trophy colours a couple weeks ago, and having done 500km so far, also find the footpads rather small, also look cheep and not up to previous BMW quality in my eyes, so have also decided to order a set of the Lone Rider pegs...

Another thing I am struggling with is the clutch lever, on the lowest setting it is still a stretch for my hand, and a very late clutch engagement point isn't helping my tendon issues, anyone else experienced something similar, anyone seen a option lever that comes a bit closer to the bars.?

Cheers Wanderer

Trying to work out how to post a picture, any links to the process would be greatly appreciated :).

Yep, I find both brake and clutch levers too long a stretch. Have not found a solution.

I also find the clutch lever bites too far out, mentioned it at the first service but they said there’s nothing they can do about it, I’ve just kinda got used to it

I find the brake lever is fine, i use 2 fingers

I have the enduro levers and find them fine. Probably cost a fortune as an accessory.

Yes agree, brake lever I'm good with, need a improved closer clutch lever though, maybe Rizoma Italy mite come out with one,

I’ve got the spikey pegs. I didn’t want them but they came with the bike. I’ve just purchased some inserts from Cymark, hopefully it will make moving the foot easier on the peg, as I’m still recovering from a broken ankle.

I find the standard pegs ridiculously narrow for my size 11 hoofs, I’ll definitely be getting bigger pegs
Exactly... The pillion pegs are huge, the riders Mini, I seriously Don't understand BMW's thinking on this, and with the premium model this bike is Pitched as... Well I sure dunno why I need to spend more money to sort there shit out...

I just sent a email to Gilles Germany, asking if they will do brake and clutch levers for this bike... See what comes back :)

I'm interested in these levers too - have been trying to get some Enduro ones via BMW for months without success. Maybe just poor dealer response. Either way would like to improve on the standard offering.
Also to mention - I changed out the standard pegs for the SW-Motech Evo option. Very happy with the adjustability and quality of those, much better all round. (y)
