For ALL bikes in back of vans or on trailers questions - Into / from the EU

Hi all, Im off to germany in a couple of weeks in a van with 2 bikes in the back, both registered to me and my mate. Am I likely to have any issues with customs or channel tunnel with bikes on board?

I take my bike to Spain every winter in the back of my transporter on the Portsmouth to Spain ferry. As it’s a panel van they always want to have a look inside. The only document I’m ever asked for is the V5.

Recently back from Portugal where we took three UK registered trail bikes in a van from Plymouth to Santander. Both in and out of Spain at the Port we were asked to open the van, then asked if we were going to/ coming from, an event, and when we said no we were asked for the registration documents for each bike. Once they were checked we were allowed on our way. No problems, no issues.

Just take your vehicle documents.
