Decided to get a trailer to take the bike or the scoot when we need to do a load of motorway to get where we’re going, after 27 years here we’ve done a lot of what’s within a day or two’s ride

I wanted something easy to load, easy to store without taking up too much garage space and a small footprint to pull behind the car

Didn’t fancy the Motolug so the main contenders were the Cochet Uno, Lorries MT-1 and the one I’ve ordered, a For One standard model

It’s a bit expensive but it’s very well made and can be loaded single handed at ground level, European homologation for 130kmh and 330kg load. There’s also a friendly dealer about 10 km from my house, bonus (y)
(Unfortunately not available in the UK yet it seems)

Is this an add?

You’ve got 2 garage pictures of 2 different trailers (white and black) in the same garage but for a trailer that’s not for sale?

Piccies off the web site, I’ve bought it, not selling it, it’s coming in a couple of weeks once it’s been cobbled together in a shed in Poland :D

I had one of these a while back. It was very easy to use but I had to let it go due to lack of garage storage space even though it had a small footprint. It did exactly what it said on the tin and I’d have kept it if I could. I’ve now got a motug that gets stored in the shed

I've always liked the look of the Cochet Uno and that style of trailer.

One day i'll have the spare funds to upgrade myself from the Erde.

Looking very good Simon, well done.

I guess your recent jaunt to Dijon was a bit of a slog in the heat, where you could’ve towed the bike and be comfy inside an air-conditioned cabin of your car. Makes sense, espetially two up.

I’d be happy to pay a bit more for something that does away with a high chance of dropping a bike from 8”+ above ground. @DJ123 I know you have purchased your chosen trailer, but this looks fantastic.

Very nice. :thumb2
I’ve always liked the few trailers that load flat on the ground. Much safer and easier.
What colour did you get? Black or white?

Had a Cochet trailer, French made, nice bit of kit, currently have a Suffolk made RoRo trailer, also lowers to the ground. On reflection, I’ve had many trailers over the years, I’d say the best was a Van Vossen, Dutch made, sadly not in business any more.

Cheers EV, yes Dijon was a ball ache going as we left after working the morning so just blasted up the motorway, had a great weekend though

The ride back was much better, took the scenic route and visited the Hospices de Beaune on the way (y)

I’m close enough to be in Italy in about 4 hours but the start of Germany is about 6 or 7 hours away and the top of Spain is 9 ish

It will be nice to get the boring bits out of the way in comfort and then tour an area on the bike

Edited to add… 👍🏻

i'll send you a link to the 'GoFundMe' when i set it up :D

Went for the white one, just preferred the look, hopefully it’s a bit more visible too

On my trailer(s) and on my Bike luggage i stick on reflective Red/White tape as passive lighting, especially on the extremities. For trailer I add a strip of red to the rear of each mudguard, and a strip of white to the front. I'll add a picture of them taken with the Camera flash on - they reflect really well and stand out.

This is the White tape i bought;

Might be useful to stick a bit on the sides or along the back axle beam thing (y)
