Sorry to hear that Chris...

Whoever is responsible for organising this -should make the time and effort to welcome Newbies and to be on time...:nenau

What's the point of putting it on the forum then...

Remind people of the event in good time, make a list of people that are going to attend and at what time...... it's not rocket science.

Woodsie.....what time did you if at all attend?

I know what it's like to go to a meet for the first time and there isn't anyone there at the time agreed.... and it's not a nice feeling.

Well I have had my rant....

Not true. There were 5 of us there !!!

(admittedly only 2 went on bikes)

We did see a bike drive in and out of the car park a couple of times. Was that you ?

Bloomin heck!! I did go into the pub and walked around in my riding suit, carrying my helmet, went out to the car park and waited there for a while, rode out to the street and back into the car park, saw no-one and no-one hailed me so I thought no-one was there.

I'll do better next time if you'll let me know the secret sign..

.............another reason to buy a twat suit............:augie

If you roll up one trouser leg, open your shirt up to reveal your chest, put a hang mans noose around your neck and a hood over your head you will...............sorry wrong group......:blast

..........my apologies to the five tossers who were there..........:o

Sorry you missed us chrisjk, you were in the right pub weren't you?

Sorry the build up to this meeting didn't meet with your approval Captain, it's more of a turn up if you like informal kind of meeting that has been run on the Forf Fursday for a good few years. It was probably put on the forum to remind people that last night was indeed the Forf Fursday in the month.

I agree about the list thing, I was only saying the other day what this site needs is more endless lists of names updated regularly, it builds up the anticipation of the forthcoming event. We should also try to use a larger font and the bold text function more in any posts we make.

In future I'm sure we will try to use your handy tips on running the next Forf Fursday meet, I don't know how we've managed to run any outings or events, over all these years, without your organisational skills..............

I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN

It was just an observation...I have had regular meeting problems at a Mini Club that I used to belong to.

We had people -newbies turn up and then sit on their own and then leave because either the group was not obvious or late etc.

Don't take it personal- I see the ego is slightly dented by the way your post reads to me....we are all tossers here right?

If you are going to encourage people to come to an event/meeting, informal or not and bother to post it on the forum , time and place then I thought it would be a good idea to inform them of who or what to look out for.
As for doing it many years and being sarcastic about my use of font's etc... It is my style, to encourage people to meet up, make it interesting and eye catching, get us tossers to have a good time and explain to them what and who to expect on the day.... not too much of a problem is it?

Some times little meetings over many years as you put it become a little 'clicky'- in that case don't bother to put it on the forum if 'you' are not going to take responsibilty encouraging new faces there... just pm your mates that have been going for many years...:nenau

Just an observation, freedom of speech and all that....:thumb2

I hope you make new comers to your next meeting a little more welcome....you never who might turn up...:D

Lolgeoff,

Pretty sure I was in the right place - biggish pub called the Plough on the other side of the river from the main road? Looked pretty fancy inside though - I wasn't sure its the kind of place hairy arsed bikers would actually be allowed in.:)

I'll be sure to wear my twat suit next time!

Things conspired against me...................

...........so I didn't get there.

There are a few usual faces each month and some new ones - last month Roy stopped off after his long day shift and the month before Kevmeister came along and I think they were well recieved and made welcome.

Whats good about next month is that we can all try again - April 24 if my diary has been printed correctly.

See you down there - if I'm there

It all HERE.

Sometimes 20 turn up, othertimes maybe two. You don't need to post that you want to go or not.
It's relaxed, no plans, no set time, and no one has had any a problem before. :nenau

Darkhorse usually posts up a reminder ( but i don't think i've ever seen him there come to think of it :D ), but he's blazing a trail across europe at the mo.

I'll be there at about 8pm. It's my first time so I was planning to wear my twat suit but if it's crap weather I'll come in the car and may just carry a copy of the Times and a pink carnation in my buttonhole..

We are big, rough, tough biker dudes. Don't expect any hand holding - just walk up to the biggest, roughest, toughest biker dude you see and tell him

"I am a Tosser. Can I buy you a drink?"

Breaks the ice at parties :)

I was actually planning to say "You look like a tosser - will you buy me a drink?":D
