hit wildlife and the handlebars are a little out.

I take it the GSA front end is no different to conventional forks in that you just loosen slightly the bottom section (yoke, spindle, callipers, clamps etc) and pump to straighten and then tighten everything back up?
The top stays untouched?

You may find when torquing up the lower yoke clamp bolts that tightening one effectively loosens the other. I had to repeatedly torque up the ones on my Hexhead as a pair each side until they both settled at its proper torque setting (25Nm I think).

Also check your front shock for damage:

When the 1200GSA came out, my mate Rob hit Bambi at high speed on the A32, cutting it in half. Luckily he stayed on and made it to Bahnstormer covered head to toe in blood. They rebuilt his bike with new forks rather than writing it off. On the subsequent tour to France his front shock failed and dumped its fluid, luckily being replaced under warranty (in Albertville IIRC.)
