Fork Brace

John

Those Telefix's clamp around the fork legs. For my R100GS-PD, surely they need to bolt downwards on top of the fork legs using the existing bolt holes?

What's Dutch for 'fork brace'?:nenau

The lower item in the picture is the one for BM's... it has a bridge that goes over the tyre

Hi!

I've just ordered this one from http://www.pbase.com/toastertan/. Together with a Telefix-brace I think my R80 G/S will improve it's stiffness in the front?

Unless I'm mis-reading his website, what he calls top and bottom braces, I call top and bottom YOKES. I agree they look exceptionally well made but it was an 'arched' fork brace with four vertical holes to line up with the existing bolts on my R100 GS Paris-Dakar which interests me, thanks.

Hey Paul,

looking at the Telefix jobbies again, it looks like you would loose the ability to use the gaiters... the Telifix unit can only clamp around that part of the leg as far as I can see... so not much cop... unless I'm missing something.

With the Telefix fork brace, they seem to have a raised section on the top to attach the fork gaiters too. Solved, thanks.:thumb2

Just as well - San Jose are AFU - I ordered a brace , and a pair in BMW silk glove liners, six weeks ago.

Five weeks later a huge box arrived, with 12 pairs of gloves in the bottom and no fork brace .

Now they tell me that they are waiting on 20 orders so they can have a new batch made.

Pity they charged my bankcard for the brace first.

The San Jose braces are quite nice, here is a shot of one on the GS I just sold..... it went straight on and required no fiddling to fit correctly.

Here's the toaster tan part to go on the '81 G/S I replaced the GS with...
