guys ive got a leak on the fork seal on the left hand side. I was wondering if anyone had a problem there. I have ridden it a few times in rought terrain and did lots of jumps on the track we road. Is this enough to cause this and how long is the warranty on fork seals.

Is oil pouring through or just weeping? if it is not a lot have you checked for grit under the seal surface? On Berg's KTM's etc I use a very thin feeler gauge or similar, slide it up under the seal and then move it round slowly to dislodge any grit - take care though as it is easy to damage the seal. It is also worth venting the forks with the air bleed screws at the top every so often.

Mine is exactly the same. Bristol told me to call in the next time I'm in the area to have it done under warranty. Said it would take long and wouldn't cause any problem if I carried on as it was unless it started spouting everywhere.

known issue.

forks are not upto the job, bit on the weedy side, ktm 990 and se have two mm thicker forks. :o

The 990 and SE have WP - nice gear and very adjustable however I find the Marzocchi units on the HP2 pretty good when you get used to them and a lot quicker to set up, I was seriously thinking of swapping them out when I first go the bike but now they feel every bit as good as the forks on my 'Berg or KTM.

thanks

thanks guys im going to ride in to bmw and show them. I hate the bike not being tip top.Its scratched etc but its good to have it running properly.
