Good afternoon

I've just got back form the Welsh snow run and what a run it was!!!!! More like the Cresta run,
A few days before the run I liberally coated the bike in ACF-50, I've done my homework and this stuff is supposed to be really good.
On inspection today there appears to be a build up of oil at the point where the fork dust shroud is, is this possible are they both able to fail at the same time, oil it would seem is leaking from both fork stanchions, Apparently independently? I pretty sure it is fork oil and not a build up of ACF-50, its golden in colour. What do you think should I be worried? The bike comes out of warranty next month, as anyone heard of this before?

Your wisdom would be very much appreciated, Oh yes it’s a 1200GSA 07,

Cheers Coolpan

Easy to check

Unlikely to be both forks seals gone, but ...Just clean the forks off thoroughly, then bounce the front up and down on front brake. If it re-appears or any oil is showing on the fork leg, you could have a problem. Any doubt get her round to BMW to get it sorted under warranty instead of being done up the a*rse with a nice big bill 2 months from now!
Good luck.:comfort

I had a single oil seal replaced 4 times before a small blemish was spotted on the inner leg. It was replaced and all is well now.

I suspect that your oil stems from the fact this may well be the first time your bike forks have had a real work out and 'excess' is just working out the seals.

Wipe it down and pop over the dealer for reassurance.

Good news, Panic off, it would seem that I was a little over zealous with the ACF- 50, :(and the forks are not leaking, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halleluuuuuuuuujah, :) thanks to all who responded, I've been biking on and off for 33 years and it's good to know that when you need help and advise someone on this forum will try and help. Thanks Coolpan.
