Anyone advise on spec of oil and how much, putting Hyperpro lowering springs in.

The quantity when I fitted mine was just under 1.5 litres of SAE 10

Apologies for hi-jacking the thread :augie but...
can I ask the same question but for a 2008 F800GS...

Dont hyperpro supply the springs with instructions and air gap info these days, they did when I did my Tiger, 200mm air gap seems massive compared to stock air gap of 60mm

Haynes manual (kindly loaned by Geriatric :thumb) says 765ml and Hyperpro books says 100mm clearance but on mine, I've put 750ml in and it's near spilling over the top? Fully pushed down and no springs in just the damper rod, so what am I doing wrong or is the Haynes manual massively wrong?

Have you pumped the leg up and down to get any air out?
I have just looked at a couple examples on the net and that's all I can suggest.
Hope you can get more help from the forums experts.

The quantity will vary depending on which spring you are using, the Haynes manual quantity will be for the OEM standard spring.
Assuming you have a Hyperpro progressive spring, go with the Hyperpro instructions.
As well as pumping the fork to get the air out, did you pump it to get all the old oil out ? If it was not completely drained empty, that could be s factor. I've changed my oil twice and each time I hung both forks upside down after vigorous pumping to drain completely for 30 mins.
Hope this helps

There is a thread on the useful links for the 800s and it says 110ml of oil!
Have a read of it, may be the answer!
I should add that it's fill with oil to 110mm below top of leg not 110ml !

Yes they were pumped extensively to empty and then pumped 20 - 30 times to expel air after refilling

Have you definately got a 2011 Bike? With Marzhocci forks. The 2012 on bikes with WP forks only use 610ml but again for OE springs anyway.

Finally got it finished, after trying to put a 2013 spring on a 2011 shock (anyone want to buy a Hyperpro 50mm lowering spring for a 2013 onwards? ) got it put back together tonight and a quick test in the wind and rain - much improvement, being able to reach the floor is so much better
Thanks for the advice chaps.

So the spring & stand arrived safely and you got them fitted okay.
Amazing the difference 4mm diameter can make isn't it...
Enjoy the bike even more now.
Glad I could help.
