Just tried adjusting my G650X fork compression/rebound thingy using a screwdriver as per instrukshuns. The barsteward brass screw thingy has just broken! Half the screw has just broken off, so now there is nothing for a screwdriver to bite against. Grrr.

Bike has 6 mths warranty left, so wondering what my chances are with that.

Failing warranty claim, how the frig do you go about fixing that? Do I just undo the cap with a spanner and bung a new one on, or do I have to fanny about removing fork legs, changing fork oil, seals, remove springs etc.

Thx !

Mike.

The actual cap on the fork leg should screw into the leg itself. Undo the cap (this might be why there is a hex head cast into the cap), and you should find that the cap pulls away from the leg, with the damper attached inside. Be careful, as this will have the preloaded spring against it.

Once the cap has come away from the leg,, you should be able to remove the cap from the damper with a few spanners....

I'd try the dealer first though. they might be able to drill it enough to remove it with an easy out.
