Anyone any clever tricks for a temp fix on a scratched fork slider?
I have put two nicks in the chrome trying to replace a seal ( i know, i know)

heard of black nail varnish to filing stones! anyone any other ideas? its 200 quid for a new stanchion and 150 to rechrome, regrind

Its a trials bike so not fussed abour mega pretty or posh, just want it to work a bit longer before the big pull out.... :D

Needle file then fill with araldite, polish with fine wet and dry etc.:thumb

Take your time:D

cheers - ive got nice blue chrome stanchions so i guess i just need to accept that that is going the journey where its scratched!

Mix some food colouring into the araldite:cool:

Or use an epoxy metal filler which is a better colour but not sure you'll get as good a finish as with aradite.

+1 for Areldite, I filled in some pretty bad rust spots on a pair of TY forks and they're still leak free. :thumb
Preparation is the key, it won't stick to oil.

clean the are with 'brake cleaner or IPA if you have any ;)

if not - wait until you have. preparation is everything

aye cheers - I used panel cleaner.
Glue on last night so hopefully i can tackle it tomorrow

Worst thing is, I managed to take both forks apart last night! No need to screww into the old seal (which is what did the damage) - can you believe it??

damn and blast it :D
