I thought the coding plug to enable Enduro Pro was an option but I've just found it under the seat. Mine is the 2014 TE version, is it included as standard now?:nenau

It is on the 2014 ADV TE so presume it must also std on the GS if you didn't specifically order it.

It was standard on the 2013 GS WC too. Provided by dealer after 600 mile service

Yep mines is there too, much higher powered version on the 2013 full fat bike! :JB

TE version - Just found mine, it was serviced Friday.
Was playing in the 7000rpm region yesterday, Yahoo :bounce1

It's never been an 'option' - standard equipment.

There's a safety / liability limitation reason for Enduro Pro mode not being active on a 'turnkey' basis. In Enduro Pro mode, ABS regulation is disabled for the rear wheel.

All it does is short 2 wires together. So if you lose it, no biggy; chop connector off and twist wires together.

Enduro Pro (the mode) is an Option.

the plug comes along if you have that Option

.

Am I also correct in thinking that it retains the current ESA damping setting, rather than automatically switching to Hard when you change to the Dynamic engine map? :nenau

Hi Sven - this is fom the handbook Page 92:

Riding mode Selection Enduro PRO (only if coding plug fitted)

For each of the 5 riding modes there is a matching setting for the ABS and ASC systems and for throttle response. With Dynamic ESA OE the adjustment of the Dynamic ESA also depends on the riding mode selected.
ABS and/or ASC can be switched off in each mode: the explanations below invariably apply to the behaviour of the motorcycle with these systems active.
Throttle response: In ENDURO PRO modes: Direct
The rear wheel lift assistant is active in all modes.
In the ENDURO PRO mode, there will be no ABS control at the rear wheel when the footbrake lever is operated. The ABS has been adjusted to offroad operation using studded tyres.
ASC - The front wheel lift assistant is active in all modes. In the ENDURO PRO modes, the ASC is set up for off-road riding.
In the ENDURO PRO modes, the damping variants HARD and SOFT can be selected. Basic setting ENDURO PRO: HARD

Enduro Pro (the mode) is an Option.

the plug comes along if you have that Option.

It may be a marketing strategy, and I'm not sure if the situation is different elsewhere in the world, but here in SA, GSs and GSAs are sold with the coding plug (in it's 'indentation' under the seat). However, the bike is not handed over to you with the plug connected.
There are legal and safety aspects to leaving that choice in the owner's hands.

The bike will do this if you have switched the trip computer from 'BASIC' to 'CUSTOM' mode. Instructions are in the manual.
There is another bonus in switching to 'CUSTOM' mode: additional information becomes available on the trip computer, and you have the option of specifying what information is displayed by the computer, and whether it's displayed on the top or bottom lines.

Yes Rob, six years on and it still the same old.........:rob
