For interests sake I took a photo back in 2004 There seems to have been a nasty streak in the Service guys nature to have 2 x 1200LT's on the ramps Yeugh! AND the one waiting the frame
Anyway Photo one is a K1200LT pre 2004 model no leccy stand or additional lighting
Photo 2 is the amount of space you need to store stuff to do this job If you don;t have this much room don;t start!
The R1100S panels are only rested on there as we figured it was the safest place for them
That is the front section with the power screen brackets at the right hand side of the pic
As to actual area I think what it covers is about 12 feet x 12 feet each tile was a 6 x 6 floor tile so that gives you an idea
And this is what a K1200LT / RS frame looks like minus it's front end and electrics and gubbins
and the reason why the frame was being changed Well is one of the reasons that bike insurance is expensive
The insurance assessor would not agree to getting the lug indicated with the big yellow arrow TIG welded back on in place with only minimal stripping required to achieve same
All that Bracket does is locate the side mounted crash-bars that are hidden by the sticky out side fins on the LT models Later models had an extra bit to put more load on the frame side instead of snapping the lug off
