Found this under my f800gs

and, really wondering where it came from... Can't find a missing bolt on the visible portions of the engine or frame, and while it may have been where I was parked before I got there, the chances are probably low for that...

Note: it has a washer and what looks like a spacer on it as well.

Anyone have any idea?

had forgotten to tighten it, but it lasted a few thousand Km

My metal mule bash plate doesn`t have a bolt like that!!Looks a fairly serious bolt though

Looks Like an exhaust fixing bolt.

Front bolt for OE bashplate. HWMBO's nearly fell out in France last year after the nut fell off (the nut being of the metal variety, not hubby ).

Bingo, it was the front bolt for my OEM bashplate =). Now, just need to track down a replacement nut for it and good to go (and more importantly, safe from fears that I had lost some hidden structural bolt =) ).
