Four days not camping in Scotland

Could not agree more re the A9. Ta also for the info about the Skye accommodation. Some of the best runs I've had have been in the spring and autumn of the year. Check the weather forecast and away! (Trying hard to hack off wir southern brethren!:P)

Cheers guys.

Scotboxer- Aye, we've had some really nice weather the bast few Octobers and again in April. Everyone down south complains about never getting a summer and we get two!:D

g00ner- the photo's are a mix, some from my phone which I put through instagram and the rest of them taken on my Nikon D7000.

Mike,
Most enjoyable ride report. Some grand photos and to top it all my three favourite bikes R80RT , R1150gs in blue and the R1200gs adv. Thanks for taking the time to post. :thumby:

Really enjoyed that.
A few mates and I cycled the west coast route from Ardrossan taking the ferry over to Arran, then Lochranza to Clonaig, then pedalled to Oban, oban to Skye, Syke to Gairloch, Gairloch via Ullapool to Kinlochbervie, with the final destination of Thurso. Total 531 miles in 5 days. Superb roads, many detailed on this post.
Weather was fantastic 4 days and 1 sh.te day, however it did not detract from the fantastic roads and experience.
p.s don't stay in the caravan at B&B no.25 Kinlochbervie.............

Hey,,,,, enchoyed ! That:beerjug: roll on Spring !!!:thumb2
I was hearing recently that the Ardrossan/Campbeltown ferry is to be running again next year. That will be opening up some new possible tour routes .
Always enjoy stopping off at Tims camping @ Strontian , dunno if I would be up for the full brekkie at Loch Carron  proper MAN food that is :D
Good RR :thumb2

Trying to find an alternative to pitching and packing away a tent each day inspired this short trip. We were really luck with the weather and rode some amazing roads.

All feedback is welcome.

Mike

Great scribbles and fine piccy's, loved the tree and boat pics. Your trip reminded me of a 5 day trip with good buddy covering nearly the same trip ,we did the Islands ,coming back to Ullapool staying in pub on Main street to enjoy a pint while watching the sun set. Amazing thing was I rode the five days in a tee shirt up to 8 pm at night behind big screen on my R1150RT . Most unusual for Scotland,
Look forward to your next adventure weekend write up.

Cheers

That was good reading and great pictures. I too have a few days in Scotland last October. Great time all round, tho' I didn't see much at Applecross on the day I was there :(
