I finally lead my 1st group ride-out. :D

I've taken Mark out before & today he brought his mate Rod along. Last year when I was starting out I did a ride with a local novice, Wideparting (Jim). I got in touch & dragged him along today too. I was hoping The Lost Soul could come along too but someone's gotta work!

Here's my gear I haul with me on most rides..

Water bladder/rucksack, Bumbag, tyre levers, inner tubes, tyre sealant, zip ties, rubber gloves, GPS, cash, mobile, various tools, spark plug, a little haul loop (came in handy in the snow), spare clutch lever & a means of tyre inflation. I take safety specs & some chain lube too.

We planned to meet-up at 9am but I got a call from Mark around 8:50 informing me Rod had a puncture!

They finally turned up & we set off in pleasant weather & did some easy trails which must've pleased Jim on the heavy KLR650. The forecast for later on was for rain but it looked fine so far.
We soon progressed to some muddy/trickier trails & the new guys started getting hot.

We headed for Moel Famau, a local Welsh mountain with some easy green trails.

Will do! :thumb

The North Wales TRF is a good place to start too, meetings at The Cross Keys in Buckley 1st Wednesday of every month, 8pm (upstairs). They'll welcome non members & take them out on a ride. Once you join up you'll get access to info/contacts/forum etc. & they fight to keep lanes open.

Money well spent.
