Wanted Four Season Sleeping Bag

Firstly I don’t know what the difference is between a man and woman’s sleeping bag, is there actually a significant difference, or indeed any difference at all?
Anyway I’m after a sleeping bag for a woman but anything will be considered as long as it’s good quality and undamaged.
My bag is a RAB Ascent 900 Four Season, supposedly good to about -18 so I’m looking for something similar but not necessarily identical to that.

Let me know what you have.

I had an arctic sleeping bag whilst serving and ive not had anything as good since.

Snug pack make (or used to) the British army doss bags (the arctic bag being one).
If you don't need them to pack down as small as a down bag then they are superb, very durable, reasonably generous on sizing and not as affected by moisture as a down bag. They are excellent value for money.
Couple with a quality inflating mat and you should be toasty as a super toasty toasty thing. I was given a Nemo Tensor wide and its been a revelation compared to my old thermarests.

I don’t use it as much nowadays because I have 2 Rab bags.

To answer your question women’s sleeping bags usually have a bit more room around the hip area but are sometimes shorter in length. If your lady is slim or average build it won’t matter, if she’s over 5ft 8 she’ll probably need a unisex or man’s bags. Hope that helps.

North Face Cat's Meow (large), silk liner, extra thick self inflating insulated matt and a Goretex outer. the bag is only rated as a 3 season so they say -5 to -10 degrees but have been infar colder climate.

When my Arctic issue couldn't do the job on a deployment in Norway, I nipped into town at the first chance and bought a Anjungilak Tyin 4/5 season bag, a local Norwegian company back then and now maybe come under Mammut and possibly made in China now. I never suffered a cold night since, Rab also have a good reputation for bags.

Buying second hand can be a bit of a gamble as the handling and upkeep of a sleeping bag can be detrimental to its thermal qualities. Don't forget the quality of your sleeping mat as well.

How about a 2-3 season bag coupled with a good liner? (especially if you're not trying to stuff it in a rucksack and go backpacking) Gives you a far wider range of comfortable sleeping temperatures...trying to get temp comfy in a proper 4 season bag when the weather warms up to well into + figures is hard work.
