Frame Protectors?

Might as well have BMW ones for £45 delivered. That way if you have to replace one of them or the straps, you can purchase spares individually, instead of buying a complete new set.

Not a fan of the BMW ones. Prefer the 'Touratech' design.

Never seen such a problem with the paintjob of BMW do you have contacted the BMW dealer?

Depends on you boots, I don't get any rubbing with my alpinestars ridge boots.

They do if you buy the 1200 Rallye ....... for every other water cooled 1200 GS it's an accessory fit and quite good value all things considered

My TE exclusive came with them, dealer said it was a mistake by the factory. Happy days!

I've ordered a set. They come with the six rubber straps, but are the self adhesive pads with it ? Or are they just held on with the rubber straps? Dealer didn't

I didn't bother with self adhesive pads. Left protective paper on and just strapped them on. That way if I want I can remove them without leaving nasty sticky crap on the frame.

I just fitted some rally ones on my GSA today and they are superb

quality and fit is second to none being genuine BMW and easy to fit with both double sided tape and rubber bands that loop around the frame to keep them on

I paid £44.70 for both sides from Marshall in Grimsby only a week ago as they have to come from Germany

self adhesive pads are on them both sides already but I did as said above and left them still covered so I can remove them

I had TT frame/boot protectors on my hexhead. They certainly took some stick and actually rubbed through in places.

BUT the amount of road crap that collected underneath had to be seen to be believed. It also caused some pretty nasty corrosion. I already had paint issues so the frame was powder coated. I now have helicopter tape protecting the paint. If you use strap-on guards put some sticky grease underneath to protect from salt and grit damage.

The sticky pads by the way stop the guards from chafing the paint. Those were the only bits of my frame (under the guards) that had not rusted.

BTW, salt is still on the roads in spring time so bikes stored all winter are not immune.

I didn't think you could get them for the Hexhead, please tell me which ones are you are talking about ?

I've got some TT one's for sale that I removed from my bike before PX'ing for a Rallye. Purchased from Nippy's and they were on the bike a couple of months, so as new.
