Has anyone been in/around Grenoble lately on a bike? Any update on if this sticker is really needed? etc
It is required.
Can you get away without one? I've no idea.

But unless you plan to ride around Paris doing burnouts to amuse the local plod I really don’t think you’ll need it

If you have an old tax disc holder, put the crit-air sticker inside that, makes it less likely to fall off.As many of you know I'm a bit of a numpty and wasn't sure how to fill in a couple of parts of the form. No matter what Euro category I chose for my bike, a 2012 1200 TC GSA, the form defaulted to 'the is the wrong category for your bike' and I have no idea what the emission levels are for her as her Log Book doesn't show these details.
On this basis I filled the form out but left these 2 categories empty.
No matter apparently as this arrived today.

I have just been online and ordered one for my 2019 model Harley tourer. As I am riding from Spain and up through France to the Cherbourg ferry, I hope to visit some historical towns.
Is it checked visually on the road, parked up or by camera?
Cost me €35.
As yet, not sure how long it lasts for.
Got a month before leaving so hope it arrives.

For that price I'd expect President Macron to personally visit and apply a gold-plated sticker to your bike. As @wessie says it looks like you didn't follow the official route......Actually it only costs £4.20. I’ve just done 2 applications. You should have the confirmation by tomorrow and the sticker within 2 weeks.I have just been online and ordered one for my 2019 model Harley tourer. Most probably true but for 4 quid against a potential fine of a lot more it certainly makes sense to get one. We’ve been touring France for over 15 years on a regular basis and since the Late 70s early 80s. We’re actually touring France and Italy as I type. We don’t have and have no intention of getting a crit air cert. We have never been anywhere that requires one. Please do not be misled about just how many places require it. The vast majority of places that require a crit air cert are not the places one would want to visit. Particularly on a motorcycle.
The only problem with that is when you’re passing a city and there’s roadworksWe’ve been touring France for over 15 years on a regular basis and since the Late 70s early 80s.
