France - Crit D'Air Emissions Stickers

We’ve been touring France for over 15 years on a regular basis and since the Late 70s early 80s. We’re actually touring France and Italy as I type. We don’t have and have no intention of getting a crit air cert. We have never been anywhere that requires one. Please do not be misled about just how many places require it. The vast majority of places that require a crit air cert are not the places one would want to visit. Particularly on a motorcycle.

some of us like to visit places like Dijon, Rouen and Grenoble and take a day off the bike as part of the trip. Some of my touring group are in their mid 70s and look forward to a rest day at least once a week.

With the roll out to more places, there are some ports within the emissions zone e.g. Le Havre and some of the WW2 sites in places like Caen that are popular here are also inside the zone.

For under 5 euros, I prefer to take the cover all bases option.

Nobody is saying one rule fits all but not that many places require this sticker. Plus I really do not like stickers of any kind on my vehicles. I even remove the dealer sticker when I buy any new vehicle.
Yeah that’s a bit weird but if you want me to advertise your place of work then you will have to pay me.

But I have another question. ……. Are uk websites available in French or other lingos ??

I admit I did not research this but I saw a lot of comments about French lingo only in French websites

You can translate the language of any site in Google Chrome settings.

Le- Havre anf Caen would have caught me out; but like you say; for 5 bucks who cares their country their rules;; wait till out toll rds and 15 min cities kick off;

What a faff though! And you can’t buy it at say a petrol station in France. Oh Sir you’ll also need separate ones for Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Italy etc etc. It’s all coming.

None of the above. I guess we like to tour differently. I’ll stick with the smaller more remote places thanks.

Perhaps it’s because we don’t really like the bigger more populated places. If one does like these places then by all means buy the stickers. We will continue to visit the smaller more rural places.

I don’t see it that way. I don’t travel to many of the places that need a sticker so I don’t buy one. Why would anyone buy a sticker for a place they have no intention of visiting?

It's a bit like spending a couple of quid on a pack of Rennies to take on holiday. Hope you do not need to use it but you might have a miserable night if you didn't take them.
