France - Crit D'Air Emissions Stickers

I can confirm that the inner city of Le Mans, gives not one hoot of a sizeable camper van with no Crit Air registration or sticker.

They would though have been mighty pissed off, had I not spotted a bridge with a height limit of 2.5 metres, in a vehicle closer to over 3 metres. Phew!

Critair dernieres nouvelles.
As of October 2026, the French government confirms that the Crit’Air sticker is still required to drive in a ZFE (low-emission zone) and can also be required during pollution episodes.
Avoid large cities and you 'should' be fine- alegedly.
Having the sticker demonstrates goodwill to the authorities in case they stop you and you say
'sorry, je ne savais pas...
