Hi Folks - Missus :bowand I will be riding down through France and doing the Normandy thing - on the way to southern Spain for the winter :oonyack.

Question is - what should we expect weather wise on the route down. UK is cold and usually VERY wet in the 1st and 2nd weeks of October but hopefully it'll be getting drier and warmer as we proceed south (I already know northern Spain will be a little wet and mild temps and southern Spain will still be in 29's).

250 miles a day will see us have a lazy trip and get to see a lot but she'll be most displeasure'd if its all wet and cold:eek:

What do we think :nenau

The way the weather is going at the moment, is there a standard weather pattern for the time you're travelling? No guarantees of anything!

My own plans for the last couple of weeks of October and the brginning of November -

Portsmouth to Bilbao, ride to Algeciras, ferry to Ceuta, ride around Morocco, wife and friend fly to Marakesh, meet up with them for a couple of days, return to Spain, ride to Granada and visit the Alhambra, ride to the summit of Pico Veleta (11,148ft) Europe's highest road, ride north eastwards across the Pyrenees into France, aim for Calais and home.

Time frame? Who knows, perhaps three weeks. I'll get a single ticket to Bilbao and another at Calais so there's no deadline and no rush.

Deep joy.

Probably much the same as you would expect in the south of UK. Mixed. Could be nice, could be lashing down.

Go to Weatherunderground site for historic data.
