A friend of mine just bought a 1200GSA and is heading to Calais tomorrow morning before embarking on a trip home to Portugal. He is travelling via Le Mans, down the western side of France to Bordeux before crossing into Spain (probably Tuesday/Wednesday) then heading to Burgos, Salamanca, etc.
I have done this trip many times and am aware of the weather issues. I've been east of the Pyrenees and west and I had a lot of help last year from Shenzi and Dakota XT amongst others with advice and tips on weather plus real live updates as they live in France/Spain (cheers guys
).
I have seen on the weather forecasts some really astoundingly low temperatures around the Pyrenees and on to Burgos and Salamanca for this coming week; -2 to -8 and they were road temperature predictions on weatheronline.co.uk .
Can anyone verify/confirm what to expect and whether to avoid the area this week? Would rather get my mate to wait it out than take a major risk with ice and bad weather!
Many thanks!
