Anyone tried the X Terrain suit by Frank Thomas?

I know FT have had a bad rep in the past but just wondered what their current stuff was like?

If anybody's got the X Terrain stuff I'd like to hear their impressions of it

if its as good as my last FT it will last years with out leeking (20 or more):clap

Had my frank thomas stuff for 5 years never bothered much with a wet proof over suit and it hasn't let any water in yet,if thats anything to go by it should be good enough gear.

Iv'e had a couple of Frank Thomas items and they have never let the slightest drop of moisture in.............................................or out for that fact. If you want to loose weight then after a sauna bag Frank Thomas is greta clothing:P

Just an update on this thread

SWMBO bought one a few months ago as is quite impressed with it. Plenty of vents and nice and warm with the liners in. Has only tested it in light rain but so far so good on waterproofing .
The armour feels ok and there are pockets to add hip and back protectors albeit they aren't included in the basic price

She can't comment on crash testing though thankfully!!

£300 for the whole suit

I have owned many FT bits of kit over the years, and not one of them kept water out for more than a couple of months. Shame...

yes,
i have the blue/white xt suit, very nice it is too, its incredibly light weight compared to my HG Goretex stuff, loads of vents, pretty cool on a hot day! lots of pockets, lots of adjuster straps even on the pants, been in rain and it was fine, not had a proper soaking tho.
i reckon its agood buy for under £300 the full suit, i think i shoulda got the grey one tho cos the bottom white bits on the pants are starting to look a bit grubby

the neck strap is velcro and if i dont fasten it it usually ends up stuck to my helmet strap

all round pretty pleased with it

oh and unlike HG stuff they actually do pant leg lengths to suit short fat tossers!!
hm

The July edition of "Rider's Digest" had a Test Report on the X-Terrain Suit and it came out pretty well. Only "negative" reported was that the tester found it to be a bit of a chore adjusting all the various fasteners in the morning, which I didn't understand as once the Suit was adjusted to the Individuals shape, that should be it. And he thought it rather expensive at £300 !!.

Bought the trousers for the current Mrs Michael, she loves them at just about 5ft getting gear to fit her has been a nightmare but the X terrain ladies xsmall are a perfect fit:bounce1
