Free AVG 8.0 upgrade to free AVG 8.5

Had a couple of adverts pop up when I'm updating my AVG. The interesting bit is that it takes you to the non-free versionand you have to look at the bottom of the screen to get the free one.

Has anybody upgraded to the later version? Any problems etc?

I'm assuming it's not a normal upgrade and might include having to uninstall 8.0 - otherwise they'd just do it as a normal upgrade wouldn't they?

It's a normal upgrade
I've had it installed about a week now.
You DO have to look for it tho' on the page they take you to.
Can't blame them tho as I've had AVG free since 1998..
It's the only Anti virus I would even consider paying for...................

i upgraded mine, now it's in german
works fine though.

Proff is correct. You have to search very carefully for the link to the free veersion of 8.5. It installed without problems for me (Vista fully uo to date, 2.4GHz twin-core Athlon) and has taken a coulpe of updates since.

STILL HAVE THE 10 OR SO AT WORK ON AVG CORP. BUT GOT FED UP WITH THE FREE VERSION AND MOVED MY 3 AT HOME TO AVAST
