This may not be news for this forum, however since I couldn't find any other threads on this subject I thought it was worth reporting.
I'm off to New Zealand soon and wanted to take my Zumo for the rental cars/campers we plan to use on this trip. The Garmin maps for NZ are quite expensive at around £80-£120 depending on the seller. I did a bit of digging on the internet for a shareware version and found this website from The New Zealand Open GPS Project. They offer free downloads but ask for voluntary donations from happy users.

The map files are downleaded with an integrated launch/install application and then loaded into Mapsource for transfer to your Zumo etc. The download includes POI data. I've not field tested it, however it seems to work just dandy in simulation mode. There's a very useful FAQ section and 'How to' guides on their site that makes the installation a 2 minute job.
Hope this helps other NZ visitors
