Great Yarmouth’s Pyrotechnics Plane Show​

AeroSPARX’s pyrotechnic motor glider will “paint Great Yarmouth’s sky with colour” every summer Wednesday, combining aerobatics, formation flying, and airborne fireworks from dusk until 10 pm GYTABIA+1.

What to Expect​

The pyrotechnics plane is a GROB 109B motor glider lit with 2,000 LED lights and equipped to ignite fireworks from its long wings GYTABIA+1. Performed by AeroSPARX — the only team worldwide to combine formation flying, aerobatics, and night‑time airborne pyrotechnics — the show creates “breath‑taking shapes” in the sky GYTABIA+1. The display has entertained crowds at the Dubai World Cup, Formula 1 in Saudi Arabia, and events across Europe GYTABIA+1.

Schedule & Times​

  • When: Six weekly summer displays, Wednesdays from 22 July to 26 August Visit Great Yarmouth.
  • First flight: Around 9 pm (earlier in August as daylight shortens) GYTABIA+1.
  • Main fireworks: 10 pm from three different seafront launch points GYTABIA+1.
  • Free entry — subject to weather Visit Great Yarmouth.

How It Works​

  • The glider performs choreographed aerobatic stunts while launching fireworks from its wings GYTABIA+1.
  • The 9 pm flight is a “pioneering” display; the 10 pm show is the main seafront fireworks launch GYTABIA+1.
  • Launch sites rotate along the Golden Mile and nearby beaches to maximise viewing Visit Great Yarmouth.
