Just going back through this thread, seems so weird, some people get full kits, some get the reduced version, someone mentioned BMW did a customer survey about toolkits ? And then the Second Key story.....

I picked up my 54 plate GS last October, got the Full toolkit and from the outset a second key and a plastic 'workshop key' as they call it in Germany. To be honest I have never owned a bike (whatever the make) that didnt come with 2 proper keys and am surprised that BMW are now only supplying one key per new bike.
Dont understand BMW's ideology on that........

The new toolkit is turning into a saga. For the key, Coopers will only hand it over if I show the V5 and a passport/driving licence. Whilst I think that is excellent and a good security measure, they have no idea about a larger toolkit, and thought I was going to pay for it until I said no. They then went away to decide who they can invoice. Is there a part number at all?
The major extra bit has got to be that puncture repair kit.

Update on my toolkit situation. I kept on wittering to the customer services bloke about the lack of functionality of the standard kit and eventually he sorted out a full kit via the dealer. It seems to be how persistant you are. :D

Picked up my second metal key and the supplementary toolkit from the dealers today. The toolkit doesn't match the one in the link earlier in this thread. I now have a tool roll with 14 items:

8/10 mm open ended spanner
10/13 mm open ended spanner
15mm open ended spanner
17mm open ended spanner
Plug spanner 13/17 mm
Philips/torx double ended screwdriver bit
long torx 30 double ended key
double ended torx 25;30;40;45;50 keys
long box spanner 17mm
plastic puller thingy

BMW part number 71 60 7 691 294

My original toolkit had the seven items previously listed

No puncture repair kit though!
