Quest - free upgrade to City Select v7

If you've just got a Quest, it came pre-loaded with City Select v6.

On the Garmin website it says that the Quest comes with City Select v7.

So, working on "don't ask, don't get", I e-mailed Garmin UK;

I have just purchased a Garmin Quest and see on the Garmin website that it is shipped with European City Select V7.

Mine has come with V6.

I have contacted Garmin UK and they have told me to e-mail this address to obtain a free upgrade to V7.

What do I need to do?

We will then send the update CD to you.

Mine was shipped on monday. You do need to have registered v6 after the release date of 30/11/04 for v7 to get it for free. Mind you it's still not turned up.

Jon, was it a full retail boxed thing, or a couple of cd's? - I wouldn't put it past my postie to have stuck it behind the flowerpot on the drive if it wouldn't go thru the letterbox. - up my road it'd get nicked.

One cd box, containing 3 cd's, in a brown stiff card type square envelope ('bout 8x8")

Intsalled and got a "uneligible for upgrade" message.

Bought the unit in January, so called Garmin UK & they've e-mailed me an unlock code, which I've successfully used.

Ta. I've got an email with a url in it to get the new unlock code, from the guy at Garmin that posted it.

If it hasn't arrived by monday I'l give them another bell.
