french garmin zumo

if you were to buy a zumo 500 in france with french maps would you be able to remove the french stuff and use uk and ireland maps on it here. on its own internal memory

Doesn't the zumo 500 come with maps of europe and uk and ireland... I have the 550 and it has them

@ thevisor: Yes, no problem. You can reload / rename the internal maps with anything you want.

@ TearAway: That's the difference between the two . The 550 has europe pre loaded. The 500 has them on DVD, and only partly preloaded (smaller internal memory)
