Anyone out there fancy a bimble on Friday. Meet up at Haddon services on the A605/A1 at 10.00am. Weather looks like its going to be fine.

Putting my rt in for a service at Northamton on friday, then maybe a trip up to derby, will have a loan bike, so can still get out and about.

where is the 605

thanks

What did you have in mind Dave and will you be riding a bit quicker than last time ???:rolleyes::rolleyes::thumb2

Thought I`d do my usual route, Peterborough, Corby Glen, Ancaster, Leadenham, Waddington, Bardney, Wagby, Willingham Woods, Louth, Horncastle, Coningsby, Sleaford, Bourne & back to Peterborough. About 170 miles in total. 3 coffee stops, Waddington, Willingham, Coningsby.
As to the speed - sorry to dissapoint but it`ll be below 3 figures Alan!!!!!!!!:D

As to where the A605 is it`s to the south of Peterborough where the A1 turns into the 4 lane A1M, the A605 goes over the top of the A1/A1M & Haddon Services is on that junction. Hope this helps mate.

Is this still a goer? If weather is anything like today I rather fancy getting out of the office into the fresh air...

I aim to make it,

Will have to get from Northampton,

So, will have to meet you somewhere,

Paul

Yes mate its still a goer, meet-up at Hadon Services, at about 10.00/10.30.
Hopefully see you there...:thumb

Friday has now been booked off :bounce1 I can come out to play now :bounce1

Will be there between the times you mention - 10.00 - 10.30 got the dreaded A14 to navigate!

I assume that you are going to Woolastons - which is (if memory serves me correctly) south Northampton. Get out of Northampton on the A43 heading for Wellingborough. Then get onto the A45 which will take you up to the A14 near Thrapston. Big roundabout - go onto the A605 towards Peterborough and stay on this all the way (couple of cameras I believe) you will see the Services on your right hand side just before the A1/A1M :thumb2 37 miles/40 minutes depending on traffic

Thanks for that,

and for the pm Dave,

Will aim to get to Northamton for 9am, depends if i need to fill the loan bike with petrol.

Been putting in a new bathroom for the last week and a bit, almost there now, and so looking forward to having some time out on the bike.

Paul

Just checked the route out on mapsource,

from Northampton to the services, I know the A45 quite well up to Rushden, tis just the bit to the A605,

I have know idea what colour loan bike it will be, only that I have asked for a k1200.

Everything being well, see you at the services.

No worries Paul, really enjoyed meeting you and Zoomboxer, thanks for coming.
Had a really good ride, some great roads - some quiet and some not so.
Nice to see some sunshine, just a shame about the wind.

Thanks again lads, must do it again some time.....:thumb

Viewing area at RAF Waddington & the dispersal area at RAF Coningsby.

Great time was had bimbling around the Lincolnshire roads - never knew they had so many bends around there! Perfect weather - though the wind blowing off the fens was interesting in places!

Brilliant to meet everybody and a big thanks to Dave for leading us around and for the coffee.
