Mrs K found an iPad 2 under the tree this morning. It replaces her iPad running iOS4

I'm an Android user but did a recent back up for her on my PC as the iTunes account is in my name

What is the best sequence/method of transferring as many of her apps and as much data as possible onto the new machine, bearing in mind that in mind that she now wants to have her own iTunes account (she does not have a PC of her own)

It occurred to me that if the back up was restored to her iPad 2 we could then just change the user name and password to those of her own choice - or is it not that simple?

Thanks, and a Happy Christmas to all

i suspect it would lose apps etc at next sync.

new account means she should have to re buy all the apps she wants.

iPad

As far as I know, you can set up the same user name on the iPad 2 and use the iTunes account that is already set up under your name. Alternatively, I think there is an option to "share devices". Best bet though is to go into your nearest Apple store and they will set it all up for you. Enjoy!

from what i know if its a new account then you cant share apps but to get her started on using the iPad2 for now just sync it too your computer now and restore from the last ipad sync and she will have everything on it that the ipad had..

I thought you could register up to five Apple devices to one iTunes account

I know when I go to the App store online I can download any purchased App to my iPod Touch or iPad 1 and a lad I work with says that he's set up his iTunes account on iCloud which automatically syncs all music to the various iPad's and Touch's his family have
