Twas a balmy mornin' and we decided to hit the road for a warmer climate..I needed to get around 600 miles on my new GS..it was 51 degree's in my garage...

25 degree's outside.

Alas, some high speed dirt through one of the local Native American reservations..

A sweet little stabbin' cabin...

HPIM0892.jpg

I wonder how many knuckle children were made here??

HPIM0893.jpg

Uh oh, trouble just pulled up..

HPIM0895.jpg

How would you like to have your foot caught in a trap then have your head bashed in with a 2x4? What a shame for $300...

The ride through the Gallinas Mountains was spectacular..

Try picking this ol' girl up in the snow covered ice..by yourself.

HPIM0904-1.jpg

The left side started getting jealous, so I had to oblige..

HPIM0905-1.jpg

The HP2 wasn't any treat either to pick up..

HPIM0906-1.jpg

It's hard to see the how steep the road was in the pics...traction was almost nil..

HPIM0907.jpg

Finally made it to the top of the Magdalena Mountain, only to discover more snow on the South face too..

HPIM0908.jpg

This scene was repeated more times than I like to admit..

HPIM0909-1.jpg

We just about gave up since we went only 20 miles in 4.5 hours...

I FINALLY GOT TO COMPLETE MY DIRT RIDE TO SILVER CITY..

Since my first attempt was foiled by the evil white stuff, two weeks ago we completed to trip to Silver City, NM.

This time I suckered 6 others to join..

HPIM1085.jpg

We had a German, Cypriot, Argentinian, Mexican and three gringos.

HPIM1087.jpg

Since the Cypriot had never been off road on his Tiger, we decided to do a mellow ride on the forest service roads.

The rolling hills were so inviting, we would just blast off to the top.

When we reached this area, the scenary went from desert to wooded forest immediately.
