Just put new front pads on the bike and I noticed that the dust cap on one of the pistons has a hole in it. I'm not particularly concerned as I'm sure it won't compromise performance. Am I overlooking something? I don't think you can buy the dust caps. On the motorworks site they only seem to offer kits with 4 pistons with dust caps already fitted and a fresh set of seals. I suspect the piston comes with the cap fitted and caps aren't available separately.

motorworks part BRA14001 or any bmw dealer

That part is a nipple cover on the Motorworks site. The dust cap I'm talking about is on the pad side on the piston. I suspect it caved in when the piston was being pushed back into the caliper.
