QUESTIONS, but some helpful advice needed please, joined the forum yesterday and received a warm welcome, thanks. Have just fitted new brake pads out there in this sunny but fresh day, beautiful isn't it, I was nervous first time and all that:augie, but thanks to Heyns all went well, However 2 questions, the Heyns manual mentions anti chatter shims of which there was no sign so proceeded anyway and second I fitted EBC Double H pads. any advice? :rob

I've not noticed any anti-rattle shims so I wouldn't worry too much.

If you've fitted HH sintered pads I think if you read the packet it says that due to their extra bite you shouldn't mix them (front to back) with non sintered types due to the resulting imbalance in braking power. I guess you've fitted a whole set though? Whatever, just take it easy on the first road test as even though the ABS will sort things out, they can grab a bit more than you may have been used to.

Many Thanks re sintered pads

Thankyou Rick G, no only the fronts, BMW recently replaced the rear pads along with a new disk and so am unsure what they fitted but will take your advice and go easy, hardly the weather for too much unexpected bite. will investigate now i have a little knowledge and post my findings, best regards RR
