Anyone seen any videos on this please? I have read that a gs1200 reservoir can be used as a replacement. Plenty of verbal instructions around but i do like a good video.

My 2008 F800GS came with the horrible bouncing reservoir stuck up in the air on a spring, and I Hated It. Then the 2012/13 revisions happened and the reservoir was fitted to the master cylinder, just like the 1200’s. And it’s a straight swap. Result! It’s much neater, doesn’t get hit on an ‘off’; unless it’s a really big one, in which case you will have bigger problems; and doesn’t distract you by being in your eye line all the time.
The only complication maybe is that the 700 is a twin disc, don't know if the master cylinder bore diameter is the same as the 650.
True, but the brake fluid reservoir, the pisspot if you will, is the same size on all the F-Series bikes, be they 650, 700, or 800.

Watching with interest! I have reduced the ’bobbing’ on mine by tightening a decent sized cable tie round the rubber mounting! That’s worked but I still don’t like the unit sitting up there. Looks like an afterthought.
As far as I know the reservoir from the later first generation F-Series bikes is the straight swap. So post refresh would be the 2013 to 2019 bikes. This was when the change from the 650 to 700 designation occurred, so the twin disc / single disc issue is negated.

I think the advice above from super ted is probably the way to go. I found no videos but did find verbal/written instruction which sounded too complicated for me
