You'll probably find the posts on the wheels are worn and that's allowing the movement. There was a post on here detailing the washer that BMW fits on a Rockster (not sure if model is correct) to stop this happening which you can fit on the 1150 and 1100 when the posts have worn.
Don't think mine are rattling about as you can see it takes a little effort to make them click but they have never done it before the new set fitted. And I get the thermal expansion bit to avoid warping but I would imagine that would be side ways movement on the wavy washers?
Thanks top at but it is a 1200 and all of the parts that fix they discs to the wheel where replaced today that's wavy washers bobbins dome bolts and finally new discs.
Mine has made a single click (especially if the front brake has been used while pushing the bike backwards) ever since I bought it. The wheels now have about 40K on them with original discs. Last week, the MOT tester was perfectly happy. OK - as happy as he ever gets.
No Bendy, the clicking started after everything was replaced, prior to that no clicking at all, but I have checked with an independent and the movement is within acceptable limits. So happy now, the bike has only one big trip left to do before her replacement arrives and this bike retires to be fettled and polished LOL.
Don't think so, thinking about getting the torque on the bolts checked may not be quite tight enough. But the clicking is considerably better than the previous warped discs which really are a pain in the arse.
