Does anyone know where I can source a retaining clip that slots into the front caliper pin?

My bike had a health check carried out whilst having some warranty work, they advised the clip was missing and quoted £19.00 as it’s part of a kit!

Similar to an ‘R’ clip, but not!

Try your local Halfords. They are just an R clip. They just stop the pin from unscrewing if it becomes lose.

No, just standard 20mm caliper clips but I'd be surprised if they didn't do the job. I have those flat head type (in your pic) on my Diversion and replaced them with standard ones without issue. I can send you some anyway and see how you get on.

The GS front pad clips do not penetrate the pin. The pin has a groove around the circumference the the clip sits in to.

Standard R clips will still work. They just need to be the same thickness (gauge) as the original pins. They just sit in the groves of the pins.

if you are that worried about the pin extracting itself how about a piece of wire that will sit in the groove and make a bulge to stop said pin working its way out.

have a look at some flat twin and earth stuff .... different diameters to suit differing ampeges (spl). very short length , sit in groove, twist to fix and trim off excess.
visit to one of the sheds with a pair of snips could see you sorted. :D
