Have been told the wishbone has to come off to remove the front engine cover on my R1100GS, is this true? and has anyone got a decent one for sale cuz this ones been fed on a diet of too much salt by the previous owner.
Also am i ok painting my ABS rings? will i need to change the "air gap"

Sensible comments ALSO accepted.

Brian.

yes the a arm has to come off.leave it on to paint it.you have been warned!

Hi Brian,
The abs ring, I painted mine with out a problem, give its a light rub to remove rust and loose paint and then sprayed it with BMW silver paint the same paint for rocker covers. As for the engine block it would be easier to remove down pipes and then spray in bike just mask up unwanted area's with tape and paper.
regards
jose
