Front Disc Movement?

One of my front brake discs moves.

Not sideways but in rotation, about 1 mm. I can move it with my hand.

Took it off and the holes dont look worn, could the ali bushes be worn? If so why would they wear?

When braking at less than 5mph I can hear it knock on every rotation of the wheel.

Aha

It's the wheel is worn, not the disc.
Take the wheel out,and then take the disc off.
Where the disc bolts to the five lugs on the hub,you will see that it looks like there is a round locating boss, around the bolt hole.Well,it ain't a locating lug,it's where the disc has worn the wheel away(fooled me for ages untill I sussed it.
Get a good sharp file, and gently draw file the lugs back flat, put the disc back on,and carry on as though nothing has happened.
Simple:beerjug:

Thanks Vern, I think I know what you mean.

Have a look at my picture. Do you mean that I've got to file a flat on each side where I've pointed the pencil to locate the oval hole in the disk?

That seems to be a slight metal defect, a scratch. :) Don't believe there's anyting serious behind it - most of the surface seems as new.

Yeah I noticed that as well, a noise when braking (just one knock when starting braking) and the movement along the circumference. I thought it was the bobbins (they were quite worn where they touch the disc). I replaced them and the movement did improve but was still there...and so the noise. I then thought it was the disc but now Vern has given us some light.....

It's late
I was abducted
I missed your posts
The beer fairy got me
None of the above
That's it,if you gently file those lugs flat again, then the bosses will locate through the discs, and stop all the rattling.I thought it was my toolkit rattling under the seat for ages untill I eventually sussed it,Doh!!
Give me a bell if you need any more explaining type stuff,I'm good at dealing with computer people,I just punch the information into them:D

I've done it and the wheels back on Vern.

"Computer person but ex on the tools type person who doesn't need a punch to understand" says thankyou :beerjug:

It's Normal, Honest.

Bit late, but i've just been to the German dealer over here with the same problem. Went in there to buy my abs sensor and just ask advice whilst waiting. They knew straight away what i meant, and said there are 3 different brake designs and two of them move slightly and one doesn't, he said it isn't a problem, and should do that.

Hope that helps your worries, but if the wheels fall off, dont blame me :D
