I thought I would cycle through available options on my '08 GSA this evening. The rear suspension seemed to go up and down smoothly but on the front when going up to the highest setting (big twin peaks:)) there was a noticeable jump on the front forks of what looked like an inch or even two. I had the same when going from the highest to lowest setting - just as it got to the lowest point, the forks "fell" down in one large movement. In between I couldn't really detect much sign of anything happening on the front it was only when getting to or going from the high mode. The rebound setting was on comfort and I did'nt change this setting.

I only really use the lower three settings and I have not had any handling issues at all, but I would like to know if this is how it's supposed to work or a sign of impending doom with either the shock sticking at one extreme setting, or the adjuster about to fail. Bike has two months warranty left but would appreciate if anyone thinks it's broken. As I said, I never use the off road settings so it's no big deal other than I like to know things that are fitted actually work.

mine does exactly the same,

if your worried take it in to dealer who can plug it in so to speak and recalibrate the system and check for any stored faults at the same time

:comfort
Same here. The front suspension jolts up/down when going from road/off road ESA settings.

They do indeed all do that. The first three settings alter the preload (on the rear unit) and the next settings (offroad) increase the ground clearance so raise the front preload to 50% on the first Offroad setting and 100% on the next offroad setting.

The front movement does appear rapid. :thumb2

Thanks

Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn't want to do a 90mile round trip to my dealer to be told it's supposed to work that way. I never use the higher settings but thought it maybe wise to cycle through the options occassionally just to have things that are meant to move: - move.

Cheers:beerjug:
