I'm thinking about fitting an extender to the front mudguard to keep some of the crud at bay. I didn't have one on my 1150 and components behind the front wheel took a bit of a beating. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the effectiveness of these and where I might find one that's injection moulded as opposed to thermo-formed? Thanks.

I fitted one to the rear of my 1150 Adventure instead and it made a big impact on the crap that gets thrown up, never bothered with the front. Mine was an ex Suzuki one that I took off my R80 and it was great!

EDIT - yes I know 3 bikes mentioned and non are a 1200 but hey the principle worked very well :)

I bought one from nippy normans, it does keep the crap off the front bit of the exaust. I bought it as i was getting big clumbs of salt stuck to it, which can't be good for chrome, looks ok.

I bought a Nippy Normans one.

Stops about 50% of the crap.

My view waste of time should have got my lazy arse into gear and made a proper one from some rubber sheet.
