Hi there,

I've just bought a secondhand 1150 GS. It's a cracking bike, but I'm having a REAL problem getting the front seat off. I know HOW it comes off, I took it off on Saturday. It's just so difficult to remove! I've tried pushing from the front, pulling from the back, thumping it...it still won't budge.
I had a REAL problem removing it the other day, so when I took it off, I smeared a small amount of oil on the metal frame attached to the bottom of the seat, now I can't get it of at all!
Am I missing something? Is there a trick to it?
Any advice MUCH appreciated.
Thanks

Simon

Use the key!

I had the same problem. Have you inserted and turned the key which releases BOTH front and rear seats? Keep the key turned to open the latch while you gently pull back on the front seat.

What a muppet!
Thank you sooo much, turned the key and the seat popped right off. I feel such a fool! :o

Shame on you, we could have had some mileage out of Simon for that one AND he's from Essex :( :D

At least he didn't plead to the mods to have his thread deleted, like the "i dont have any oil pressure displayed in my RID when i start the engine"
