Putting the front shock back in my 1150 - when I go to tighten up the nut at the top where it gies through the frame, nut tightens and then nut and thread are turning together before I get near torque setting. Have I fitted something wrong?

Try taking the bike off the main stand otherwise you need to use a screwdriver....torque setting:nenaujust tighten it up:thumb

Hold thread at top with 10mm spanner (from memory) to stop it moving
tighten nut with spanner until tight then check with torque bar

Use a spanner on the nut and hold the bolt in place by using an allen key. If you use a socket on the nut you can't get the allen key in.

What make of shock is it ?

Some have flats to hold the rod, some have an allen key fitting, some don't have anything .
