Front tire/wind noise - new product DBS baffle - anyone tried it?

Hi, Droning on about awful front tyre noise as usual .... but it really is spoiling my fun.

Just found this product on line from Spain - has anyone tried it ? Does it help? From other threads most feel this 'whomffing' noise is tyre noise coming up the fork tunnel and maybe this baffle deflects the wind through the rads rather than trying to block the fork tunnel itself?

Looks expensive for what it is ... but what on bikes isn't!:rolleyes:

I thought about that product but gave up last minute because I realized I'd have to remove my extra DIN socket for Garmin GPS that would be on the way. Later, changed tyres to Michelin Road 6 and all the front tyre noise was gone.
 
THanks for coming back to me. I'm running Road 4s - maybe Road 6s or one of the other 'quieter' tyres will improve things when I need to replace mine. May try the Wunderlich or Spanish product before then.
 
Are they made in someone's shed in Barnsley ?

There might be a 3-D print pattern for something like that. You'd need to budget extra for the 4 cable ties though...
 
I’ve seen the Wunderlich version and can imagine that it will be effective in blocking the updraft on a r1250gs as it mimics the OEM version fitted to my f850gs which does work.
This particular bit of plastic looks designed to deflect air away from the radiators and send it tumbling noisily up and outwards.
I wonder if the designer had a Suzuki GT250 in the 1970s and was inspired by the ‘ram air’ alloy plate tacked onto the engine?
I would be surprised if it offered any useful utility - buy one and let us know.

Chop up any old plastic thingy you have laying around and zip tie it to your bike, at least it will tell you if it's going to make any difference at all. If it does, you can then spend the 107 euros+ del? for all the R&D spent on the genuine high end article.
 
Don't ask me..... given to me when in my teens playing 5-aside:rolleyes: ..certainly wasn't because I was quick. Maybe now relates to my frequent use of the quickshifter?
 
Homemade tester seems a good idea ... but positive info from Alan R for the Wunderlich approach may lead me in that direction ... or BOTH!
 
Took your advice - easy to do and I think made a same marginal improvement Seemed to reduce the noise a little and make it 'smoother' -..... but not worth 100+ euros.
