Purely a precaution.

I didn’t detect any “grittiness” when turning the bearings when I removed the wheel, but I’d bought new bearings and seals last year when the bike reached 50K miles.

From the outside all looked ok, but the bearings and seals looked tired.

As I wanted a rear tyre changed at the same time I took the wheels plus new bearings and seals (cheap SKF on FleaBay - not dealers) to My Man locally.

A mere £10 note got me both wheels back a few hours later.

I’ll sleep easier now.
