That doesn't necessarily follow since the aerodynamics will differ between the two bikes.
Try wearing a different helmet on your GS.

I had a rumble from the rear of my 1150 felt through the pegs at 30-45mph when cornering, stripped and replaced final drive bearings it stayed this went on for 30,000mls on Metz Tourance then I recantly replaced with Michelin Anakee 2's and it's gone

When initially asked if he's tried moving the front wheel when on the centre stand he replied "No I havn't as the wheel doesn't spin at all unless forced"
If thats the case then ph4824 you need to get your bike back to the dealer sharpish, cos if the front wheel is binding, be it because of tyre rubbing or brakes etc, then you could be heading for a lot more problems. If you ride it in the wet it would be like braking in mid corner.
My advice, get it sorted quick.

Does this mean you tried to spin it whilst on the rollers and not elevated? Also do you mean the spindles tight i.e correct torque setting, but you've not tried removing it?

Panic not.
It's you that has missed the point. Or, to be more exact, have not read the bod's reply.
He stands the bike on its centre stand.
Beneath the front wheel he places some sort of roller device. This apparently allows the wheel to turn but does not allow it to spin freely. So he has to pull the wheel around.
If matey simple weighed down the back of the bike a little, the front wheel would come off the ground. This will allow chummy to tell if his wheel was rotating reasonably smoothly.
As usual, somebody is doing things the hard way first.
It really is very simple.
As regards the tightness of the spindle. God only knows what he is talking about.
Sounds like he needs a fat assistant to press the rear end down.

Instead of getting 1001 different answers on here, just take it to the feckin dealer and let us know what it really was. That`s what they are there for

The Metzeler Tourance EXP's on my new GS also have a rumble...
On my previous GS I ran older Tourances and in a corner they were quite rough.

Correction, at least on my part! When I said the wheel doesn't spin unless forced I may have given wrong impression. What I meant was the wheel doesn't just spin freely unless you keep moving the tyre. To be fair this was probably because there was some roller resistance from the Wheel-Spin device I bought allowing me to move the front wheel for cleaning. I havn't had a chance yet to lower back of bike to check as I will need my wife to help.
Based on what people have commented on seems like it's the tyres, but changing them will not be cheap probably £160-£200 and it's not worth spending that kind of money for something I will learn to live with.
I've done about 525 miles so far so am ready to book the bike in for 1st service but when I called the other day no one was available so I'll sort it out early Jan.

PS I think we had worked out what you meant about the front wheel needing to be pulled.
Even if the bike is on its centre stand (with your wife helping at the rear) and the front wheel off the ground a bit (no Wheel-Spin gizmo impeding its progress) the wheel will still need a reasonably firm bit of input to spin around.
Why? Because it's reasonbaly heavy. It's not like a frictionless toy wheel. So please don't panic if it doesn't rotate for an hour by blowing on it.
All in all, you are probably best of going to a dealer and let them listen to your drone
first hand.
Nah, it's a 1200. The fuel pump / battery / EWS (delete as applicable) will have departed......
If it is your tyres, which it probably is, it will happen again if you replace them with another set with a similar tread pattern.

I had the privilege of touring in Norway this year.
Draconian speeding fines mean lots of low speed travel on very windy roads, typically 40 to 60 mph max.
I wondered what the hell the noise was every time I tipped the bike into a bend (and there aren't many straight bits in Norway).
I eventually twigged that it was tyre noise, it sounded just like a faint army LandRover on barred tyres.
I'm on Tourances but I'd take a fairly hefty bet that that is the source of your noise too.
