I used a 22mm end nut on a 13/16" spark plug socket, with a 10" extension, and a ratchet to loosen mine.
I put the socket in backwards, threaded the extension through the axel, and places a ratchet on the end. It worked great.
Since then I found a 13/16" Craftsman spark plug socket that will allow me to put a short extension through the socket, and not need to go all the way through the axel. This makes torquing more accurate.
Only $3.99.
Oh, and Avon Distanzias are orders of magnitude better than the stock Dunlop D607's.
