Front wheel removal tool

Unlikely as I'm away on RTB07 until the 7th then away on business to London the next week for 2 days and there is only so much the Wife will put up with.

If there is a fellow weegie who'll take some up to sell/fill orders then arrangements can be made.

Front spindle tool

I would like one as well. Please count me in and let me know what the process will be.

Who else thinks its crap that they charge so much for the bike that needs special tools to remove both wheels and they are not in the toolkit ? Pennypinching load of Kr**ts.

The original toolkit included the socket for reomoving the axle spindle :nenau

It was 'simplified' later when all the Long Way Round wannabe's started buying 1200's ;) :D

For an excellent 1200 toolkit discussion look HERE :thumb2

Any thoughts on sending one of them across the pond?

You know what they say about 'the cheepest part of a BMW...'

Hey there Steve,
I hope you can make it up for D8.

There's been a couple of vids on youtube - do a search for 'volvanimal' and 'volvo drumclog' you'll get em.

paypal me £4 to [email protected] and I'll send you one as soon as they're ready.

BTW Motrax do a multi size tool for £12 so £4 is pretty good vfm.

I can send these tools worldwide but the postage will be horrible! They weigh ~400g packaged.

The stock will be in in the next day or 2 and ready to ship late this week/early next. I've got enough steel to make about 75 and 30 are already sold. I can always get more steel!

Richard

Hi Richard,
I'm definitely up for one, Have sent you a pay pal payment for £4,
Any probs please give me a shout.

Simon

I don't know if you've been to London yet but if you are and you've time, I could take a load off your hands and distribute them to anyone in SE England, if that helps.

.......

OK chaps, they are being sent out tonight!

Anyone wishing to bulk buy then the price each is £2.50 each plus shipping (£7.50 for up to 20kgs) this means buying 5 or more saves you money!

I have over 50 still available at £4.00 each delivered.

Even better news, the postage is only 90p so an extra 85p is going to the charities!

Instructions as follows

Dicky Dover’s Wheel Removal Tool

For the safe removal and refitting of front wheel spindles for modern BMW’s and many others. This tool is made from half decent 22mm mild steel hex bar cut to approximately 10cm (4”).

Instructions

Slip yer length into the front spindle end (called “quick release” by BMW, no really!) as far as possible and using a normal 22mm spanner (either ring or open end) or 22mm socket, turn the spindle either clockwise or anti-clockwise as required.

Note #1: make sure the rough edges are properly filed/chamfered before use to avoid damage to the bike (no I haven’t done it, what do you want for £4 inc postage?)

Note #2: You only need about 5cm so feel free to cut in half and keep one in your tool roll and the other in your garage.
