My 08 GS has, (fitted by the dealer at delivery), a Akropovic end can.
Now, I know from previous bikes that a Power Commander type box is needed to enable remapping of the fuel:air ratio to make sure the bike didn't run lean.
How does the GS do this?

Cheers

[dumb question #5]:D

the bike is fitted with a lambda sensor in the header pipes (before the can) so it contstantly moniters the fuelling it doesnt matter what can is one there it will always keep the air fuel ratio the same

Darren

I just had a dyno run on my 08 GSA with Remus headers and end can.
I will post the sheets when I have a final run done soon for comparison.

In the meantime, the run showed that my 08 bike with the (105bhp) engine was running way leaner than my older (100bhp) 1200GS with the same setup. So lean that I am going to get another run done with the OEM can back on with the Remus headers.

My question is, does the new 1200 engine run a whole lot leaner as standard from the factory in any case.

(By the way the new engine showed 102.5bhp at rear wheel with the above set up which was 7bhp more than the old GS. more later)

Isn't the Lambda sensor just for minor ajustments? Surely the bike needs to be setup correctly first, and the sensor provides feedback and minor adjustment?
I had a Lambda sensor on my 2007 Z750, but I still needed a Power Commander and specific map to get it to run correctly.

Is the BMW somehow different???

Cheers
Ollie
